COOPER CROMAR – BROCHURE WORK
Some promotional materials were often required to accompany some of Cooper Cromar's commerical projects. Here are some of my favourites.
CONNECT COMMUNICATIONS
As Design Manager at Connect Communications, I managed a large team of designers and ran the very busy schedule. We published a huge variety of Commercial publications, consisting of magazines, newspapers, brochures etc. for a huge number of Blue Chip clients such as The Law Society of Scotland (LSS), Institute of Directors (IoD), Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAS), Police Scotland, Standard Life, Age UK, Glasgow City Council, City of Edinburgh Council, Fife Council, BAE Systems, NHS 24, FMC Technologies, Edinburgh Zoo, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society… and many more!
It took me just one week to recreate the templates for all of our publications and train our Designers and Editors as we successfully transitioned from QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign. The migration was completed seamlessly, ensuring minimal disruption to production. I absolutely loved the variety of clients when working here - so many blue-chip clients.
During my time with the company, I was also honoured to receive two design awards in recognition of my creative work which you can see in the home page.
M8 MAGAZINE
M8 Magazine was Music Scotland Ltd's flagship publication and marked the beginning of my professional design career. As the company's first in-house designer, I played a key role in shaping the magazine's visual identity. As the business expanded, I was promoted to Head of Design, where I built and led a growing team of graphic designers.
Originally launched as a Scottish music magazine, M8 quickly evolved into the country's definitive dance and clubbing publication, earning a loyal following and becoming a cultural institution for a generation of club-goers. Its success extended beyond publishing, leading to the launch of Massive Respect Records, a record label that promoted a number of Scotland's leading dance acts..
SCHUH MAGAZINE
Music Scotland Ltd had a strong partnership with Schuh, the popular footwear retailer. We created Schuh Magazine which was also published online. This presented the opportunity to work with many fashion brands, such as Adidas, Puma, Red or Dead, Acupuncture and many more.
OTHER MUSIC SCOTLAND LTD WORK
We also published Go! Magazine which covered Glasgow and Edinburgh listings. Music Scotland Ltd also produced an underground hard trance publication called Wax Magazine.
